SIGNED ON THE HALF TITLE PAGE as follows: "Sincerely/ Billie Lamb Allan." 8vo. (23 cm.) [10]1-140p. Profusely illustrated with black and white captioned photos. Endpapers are maps. Black and white photo of author on front turn-in of dust jacket. Green cloth with letters stamped in black on the front cover and the spine and with a small vignette of a house on the prairie stamped in black on the front cover. Very minor wear to extremities, else near fine with no internal markings. Dust jacket near fine. This is the story of pioneering in the bush country of Manitoba, north of 53, by the author's father, Tom Lamb, who came to Canada from Yorkshire in 1891. Billie Lamb Allan was born at Moose Lake, Manitoba, one of the eleven children mentioned in DEW UPON THE GRASS. Her Christian name was Gladys Lillian, but she preferred her nickname "Billie". Billie Lamb Allan was a business woman who made her home with her husband in Nipawin, Saskatoon.
