Volumes CCLII and CCLXI of the "Collection of Ancient and Modern British Authors." Four pages of adv. in the front of each volume. See Howes M-300, 301 (which mentions English and American editions but not this Paris one.) OCLC search shows only 3 institutional holdings of this edition. NB. Sabin lists this edition second (immediately after the Longman London edition) in his chronicling of a total 7 '1839' editions; Sabin 44696; Clark III, 204. Fine. Marryat was a distinguished Royal Navy captain best known for stirring tales of adventure for boys.
