Front endpapers and rear pastedown have old ink stamps for Greensboro, Alabama lawyer Lee M. Otts; front pastedown also has eight-line inscription from author F.B. Clark, Jr. to Mr. T.C. Wilson dated May 1885 but with each line marred by ink cross-out of book's last owner J.T. Ellison whose name is written at top margin. Some moisture staining, foxing, and scattered soiling to leaves; top corner of pages 75-76 creased from past fold-in. Binding is firm. A good+ copy. Acquired from the estate of Alabama historian and Huntingdon College professor emerita Dr. Rhoda Coleman Ellison (1904-2005), the daughter of Centreville, Alabama attorney John Tullis Ellison (1865-1947) who was Bibb County solicitor and partner in the Ellison & Thompson law firm with Judge Jasper Fritz Thompson.
