About the Author:

Jeff Connor was born in Manchester and was educated at Bury Grammar School where his studies lost out to sport at the age of 15. A retired ruby player at both codes of union and league he is also a former champion professional hill runner, a keen skier and a five-days-a-week gym addict. He is divorced, lives in Edinburgh and is the rugby correspondent for Scotland's leading Sunday newspaper, Scotland on Sunday.His previous books include 'Wide Eyed and Legless: Inside the Tour de France' and 'Creagh Dhu Climber' (short listed for the Boardman/Tasker and Banff Mountain Festival prizes for mountain literature in 1999/2000).

After 20 years at the bookshop in Mayfield Road, Leicester, U.K. I have now closed the shop(May 2013)and am now trading from home.Although the online stock is reduced I will now have time to update the entries,especially with images for every entry.Moving to home has also uncovered some boxes of books that had been buried at the shop for many years,so look out for these!

Cash with order. I accept payment by credit/debit card (Visa/Mastercard but only by ordering through abebooks)and Paypal. Postage is extra but not always that quoted by ABE - with light books I am able to reduce the cost of shipping on line but only after you have sent your order. The description of the book will indicate any alteration to the stated postage. Please phone or email if you wish to know in advance how much shipping is likely to be.
ABE indicates returns policy and I abide by that.


Shipping Terms:

I aim to process each order on the day after notification and also make every effort to post that morning. I do not access the web on Sundays so orders received after 10 A.M. Saturday will not be processed until Monday morning. Postage costs are indicated with each book. U.K. customers have the option of 1st class or 2nd class delivery. The default setting is 2nd class. International orders are shipped by airmail. If your book order is heavy or oversized, I may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. The description of the book will indicate if extra shipping may be required as is the case for light items where a reduction can be made.
Packing will be either by padded envelope or mailing box. In addition I also protect hardbacks with bubble wrap and paperbacks with film fronted bags.
Books up to 50 are insured by Royal Mail. Above that figure I will take out insurance. In addition at no extra cost some books will tracked/signed for.
