Synopsis: It's nearly impossible for a man to be a good father if he is not a good husband. Children learn behaviors and how to treat one another by watching the way their parents interact. When a father exercises the influence that he has in a positive way, the entire family will benefit. Dr. Cave notes that many men have a tendency to be immature and selfish. However, they must push themselves beyond that way of behaving and thinking. The author has seen that a man can learn to be more caring, loving, and involved with his children's upbringing, and therefore make a real difference.
This book was written to help men understand the importance of being a father. Through his research and work as a psychologist, Dr. Cave found that a father's influence has far-reaching and long-lasting effects on the lives of children... good or bad. By reading this book, fathers will learn how to make their influence a greater benefit to the family. The book also explains why children do the things they do, how to effect change in others, and the difference between teaching a child and punishing a child. The author has seen the principles in this book make a dramatic difference for families. Why not yours?
