About this title

TO THE DARK ANGELS is a compassionate, transcendent journey through the mysteries, myths, and struggles of our time. It is dark at times, yet richly luminous, woven from the fiery brightness of love and a gentle humor, as Jared Smith employs the depth of a half-century of poetic craft and hard-earned experience in exploring the profound value of human dignity placed against the cosmic dance we share with all life, the earth, and the unknowable itself. This is a deeply resonant song of maturity, which ultimately fills the reader with a sense of peace and joy that will last a lifetime.

About the Author:

Jared Smith is the author of eleven books of poetry, two spoken word CDs, and two multi-media stage adaptations of his work. His poems, essays, and literary commentary have appeared in hundreds of journals and anthologies in the US and abroad over the past 45 years. He has served on the editorial boards of The New York Quarterly, Home Planet News, The Pedestal Magazine, Trail & Timberline, and Turtle Island Quarterly as well as serving on several regional arts associations, and as a Director of The New York Quarterly Foundation.

Jared has worked as a door-to-door salesman, energy industry research executive, educator, and Advisor to several White House Commissions as well as Argonne National Laboratory. He currently lives in Colorado, where he spends much of his time exploring the mountains and tending a rustic log cabin in Roosevelt National Forest.
