About this title

Synopsis:

(Book). This handsome hardcover volume presents an astonishing array of images that capture the musical, cultural and personal magic of the Grateful Dead on and offstage. An irresistible 25-year visual journey, it showcases more than 900 rich color and black-and-white photos hundreds never before seen plus essays by Dead historians Blair Jackson, J.C. Juanis, and rock photographer Jon Sievert; a foreword by Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh; and photographer Jay Blakesberg's own reflections. From Blakesberg's travels following the Dead in the late 1970s, to his intimate studio and home portraits in the '80s and '90s, up through and including photos documenting band members' offshoot projects (Ratdog, Phil Lesh & Friends, the Jerry Garcia Band, Mickey Hart and Planet Drum), Between the Dark and Light is a compelling view of an unparalleled pop culture phenomenon whose ripples will resonate for years to come. Packaged in a beautifully designed keepsake box, the collector's edition is limited to 1,000 signed and numbered copies. Includes an 8 x 10 photograph of Jerry Garcia (signed by Blakesberg) suitable for framing! "Jay Blakesberg shoots 'em Dead on ... warts, halos, and flyin' hair. Keep on clickin'." Wavy Gravy

Terms of Sale:

Private merchant account, no taxes on sales and a standard shipping fee in accordance to rates.

Shipping Terms:

U.S. Shipping:
We ship our books according to media rate through the US Postal Services. This is the cheapest way for us to ship you your books. We will contact you if shipping will cost more than the listed price. Please note that heavier and larger-sized books will cost more to ship as the general shipping cost is used for average-weight/sized books. If you would like your book insured, specifically packed or delivered faster it will cost more and you will need to contact us.

All our packages are wrapped in foam, bubble wrap, peanuts or a combination thereof.

International Shipping:
As a standard for shipping, we ship all our books in a Global Priority Flat Rate mailer envelope. This costs just a couple bucks more than ground and will get there in 4 to 10 business days instead of the one to two months it would for Ground. Priority in a box costs a bit more (about 17.50,) but has that added bit of protection. We're more than happy to ship Ground for $9.00 or Express for $30.00. Let us know what you prefer if the option isn't listed.

All our packages are wrapped in foam, bubble wrap, peanuts or a combination thereof.
