A native Californian, Eleanor Clarke Yukic's youth was spent on the beach at Santa Monica or in the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountains where she developed a love of the out-of-doors. She worked 25 summers at camp: 10 as a counselor and 15 as a director. She has hiked wilderness trails in the Us and Canada, the Milford and Abel Tasmin tracks in New Zealand, the Pyrenees in France and Lake County in Great Britain. Yukic has an BA and MA from UCLA and worked as a teacher and with youth organizations for 38 years. She's been active with the American Camping Association, Red Cross and teacher organizations. Since retiring, she writes full time. She has three adult children and three grandchildren. She lives in Northern California with her Brittany Spaniel and stays in shape lap swimming and by daily hikes along the San Francisco Bay to enjoy the sights and smells of nature while fantasizing a scene in her latest mystery novel. Her previous published works are: The Devil's Punchbowl, Deadly Games, Murder in the Mist, A Legacy of Deceit, With Malicious Intent and Terror on the Trail.
