About this Item

1st edition/1st printing. Dean Koontz or his wife writing under her maiden name? No one knows for sure and Mr. Koontz isn't talking, though the copyright showing (on books.Google) from the Library of Congress Copyright Office, Third Series: 1972, Jan.-June shows copyright to Gerda Ann Cerra with Dean Koontz in parens; also shows Lancer Books Gothic Original with the #75294, instead of Magnum. Front cover/spine top of the book say Magnum #75294, front and back covers say 'A Magnum Gothic Original - Never Before Published' as called for, title page says Magnum Books ('easy eye' was just a 30% larger font size used under the names of both Lancer and Magnum), copyright page says copyright to Gerda Ann Cerra with the dedication to 'Dean' and shows Prestige Books as publisher (likely one of the many names Lancer used during their legal problems before finally going broke and out of business in the early 1970s). Their number scheme did not indicate the year published (for instance, the 75294 doesn't mean the book was published in 1975) but instead was a series number scheme Lancer/Magnum used to try to separate types of books published (like to keep porn and romance separate from their mystery and sci-fi books). What a mess they made! Straight, clean, very tight NF book with no writing in it, with a tiny fold line to upper front corner, a tiny bit of edgewear to corners, and a couple of very tiny spots to paper of spine. There's no reader's crease to either spine or front panel, and no spine rolling. Extremely nice example of this scarce book, whichever Koontz is the real author! Maybe joint effort? ; 221 pages NONE. Shipping Terms:

U.S. destination shipments are always well padded and shipped in boxes, so speed of delivery is the only difference. You choose whether USPS Media Mail or USPS Priority Mail. We insure all books with a value of $50 and up at our expense, whether U.S. or non-U.S. destinations, and do not charge handling fees. PLEASE NOTE THAT NON-U.S. SHIPPING CHARGES ARE BOTH SIZE AND VALUE-DEPENDENT AND THAT WE WILL NOT SHIP BOOKS WITH A VALUE OF $50 OR OVER INTERNATIONALLY VIA USPS GLOBAL PRIORITY ENVELOPES, and can not ship book sets, large or heavy books weighing over 4 lbs. in such USPS Global Priority envelopes. Instead your book will have to be shipped well padded in a box via USPS Priority Air International. If you buy a very expensive book, depending on what the insurance limits are in your non-U.S. country, we may have to ship that book via USPS Priority International Express at a somewhat higher cost to you for us to be able to fully insure it (again, insured at our cost). In such a case ABE will contact you to let you what the increased cost would be before the order is finalized. Our phone number for order information is 800-243-6131 or for questions or international calls 918-686-6131. Leave a message on our voice mail if we're not near our phone. To pay us by PayPal, we can send a Request For Funds to you (we'd need to know the email address you are registered as at PayPal) - or you can go ahead and pay us at PayPal at our PayPal address of aaabooks@aaabooks.com, including shipping costs based on our stated shipping rates and the value of the order. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. For non-U.S. buyers, please read our description to see if the book you order is heavy or over-sized, or over $50 in value to prevent us having to contact you via ABE to let you know extra shipping is required. YOU CAN PREVENT THE DELAY THIS CAUSES BY CLICKING ON NON-U.S. PRIORITY SHIPPING INSTEAD OF STANDARD SHIPPING DURING CHECK-OUT.
