About this Item

McDowell, Obolensky; New York. 1959. INSCRIBED FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER-- black cloth w/ intact lettering on spine-- in NEAR FINE Condition in VERY GOOD unclipped Dustjacket under protective mylar. INSCRIBED & dated in year of publication on front free endpaper: "For the lovely Simeen-- with all good wishes for you and your family-- Fereidoun Esfandiary-- Sept. 1959," Otherwise, INTERIOR PRISTINE: clean, tight, bright. A very rare signed copy by the author, Fereidoun M. Esfandiary (1930-2000), also known as "FM-2030," author, teacher, transhumanist philosopher, futurist, consultant & athlete. In July, 2000, he died & was placed in cryonic suspension at the Alcor Life Extension Foundation in Scottsdale, AZ. He was the first person to be vitrified, rather than simply frozen as previous cryonics patients had been. This is his first book, a work of fiction, and is a story of political idealism and senseless terrorism, set in a vortex of trouble in the Middle East-- Teheran, Iran."
