About this Item

Purple boards with black cloth shows light edgewear and soiling. Spine and hinges firm. The pages are clean and unmarked. Mr. MacDonald signed this book as "John D. MacDonald"on the half-title page in the presence of the former owner. The copyright page says "First hardbound edition 1974". The dust jacket (in mylar) is bright and whole showing just light edgewear. The publishers code on the front flap is "175". "A Deadly Shade of Gold" is the fifth title in the celebrated Travis MsGee series, and had a relatively small print run compared to later titles. All titles in the 21-volume series include a color, a mnemonic device which was suggested by MacDonald's publisher so that when harried travelers in airports looked to buy a book, they could at once see those MacDonald titles they had not yet read. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 000928
