This is an early British anthology that includes "Mark Twain's Nightmare, a Story of Haunting Horror" which in America was titled "Punch, Brothers, Punch!" (first published in 1878 -- also by Ward Lock & Co. in the U.K., in wrappers). Also included, obviously, is Bret Harte's "Deadwood Mystery," which likewise had first appeared in 1878 (in Beeton's Christmas Annual). The two are separately paginated.
