Death and Disaster: The Rise of the Warhol Empire and the Race for Andy's Millions
From the library of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and inscribed by a friend on the FFEP: "April 22, 1996 / For Vera and Doug, It has been nine years since Andy's death, but not until the account in this book was his medical care fairly represented. This comes with my admiration and affection, and the greatest pleasure in our friendship. Denny." The half-title page bears a name covered over in white-out, with Denny's note on a post-it: "Please forgive the erased inscription. Like SALAD DAYS this book is a rarity." Beneath the white-out, the author has written, "Best wishes from Denny's friend, Paul Alexander." An interesting association copy. Fairbanks (1909-2000) was an iconic American actor from Hollywood’s Golden Era (his credits include "Gunga Din"), and a highly decorated naval officer of World War II. Bookseller Inventory # JC2972
