About this Item

Doubleday & Company, Inc., NY. The only book about Lafayette Baker, Lincoln s Chief of the Secret Service. Although famous in his time, very little has been done written about him. Baker had his detectives assigned across the North looking for spies and sabateurs. He helped lead the pursuit of John Wilkes Booth after Lincoln s assassination. Very good copy of the stated first edition in a good+ dust jacket. The jacket has minor sun fading on the spine and minor edgewear. 429 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 10729
