Book Description Privately Printed, 1914. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. First edition. wear to covers, preliminaries and scattered pages foxed or soiled, complete but loose in binding. Ownership inscription of Theron Howe, Wells, Vt. Co. G, 1st VT Cavalry. Howe joined the 1st Vermont Cavalry in September 30, 1861 upon its formation and mustered out August 9, 1865 at its dissolution. During that time he was taken prisoner briefly, was wounded and later promoted to corporal. The last event is noted in his handwriting at the Company G list. The author, General Wells' son-in-law, is noteworthy as the first man to cross the country by automobile. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and(generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible. The Book Shed has a been a member of the Vermont Antiquarian Bookseller's Association since 1997. Bookseller Inventory # 995628
