This collection of newspaper cuttings, microfilms and other material started thirty years ago, when The Author began using the Newspaper Library of the British Library, in those days the Cost of the acquisition of such documents was relatively inexpensive, such is no longer the case. The book contains first Hand accounts of the successes and setbacks of the British and Burmese forces. Letters from serving officers to their Families and friends in India, with instruction to offer them to the newspaper to which they subscribed. While some are light hearted others are more somber. There can be few similar collections, therefore it seemed reasonable to reproduce the material in book form in the hope that it will prove interesting to the Military historian and the general reader alike.
