About this title

Synopsis:

For as long as we can remember and even before, the refrain Jesus is coming soon has sounded in churches around the world. Its theme is central to our message as a church embedded in our very name Seventh-day Adventist! Yet, still we wait. If we step back for a moment and take a panoramic view, we see Adam and Eve waiting for the Promised One. They, too, must have wondered at the delay. Author Marvin Moore observes, Theres a tension between the belief, on the one hand, that Jesus is coming soon and the realization, on the other hand, that He hasnt returned as soon as we had hoped. How encouraging are these words: Gods purposes know no haste and no delay (The Desire of Ages, 32). Moore concludes, We need to apply those words to our situation. Paul said that when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son (Galatians 4:4). We can be sure that when the time has fully come again, God will send Jesus back to take us home!

About the Author:

A self-proclaimed """"work-a-holic,"""" Marvin Moore is the hardworking editor of Signs of the Times magazine, and a prolific author with more than 20 books to his credit. If he's not writing, Marvin is on an airplane en-route to one of his many appointments as a seminar speaker. Marvin's knowledge of Bible prophecy and end-time events keep him in constant demand as a speaker at churches and camp meetings in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to his career in editing and writing, Marvin worked as a pastor for 15 years in California and Texas. He earned an MA degree in Church History from Andrews University in 1961 and and M.Div. degree in 1969 from the same university. Later, in 1974, he earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degree from the University of Dallas. For fun, Marvin and his wife Lois enjoy hiking (""""especially day hikes--I like my comfortable bed too much to do overnight backpacking!""""), snow skiing, and cruising around the desert in his Toyota 4Runner.
