They'll Deliver the Goods. Let's Deliver the Woods. Sharpen Your Ax to Down the Axis [poster]
Available From More sellersView all copies of this book
Roughly 21.5 by 28 inches. Offset lithographed poster printed in red and blue on off-white paper. A propaganda poster encouraging lumber production published by a lobbying group of the National Lumber Manufacturers Association (now the National Forest Products Association). The poster depicts a man in a forest sharpening an ax with an infantry man and a naval gunnery to the side. Dated based on a 1942 Southern Lumberman magazine mentioning the poster. A rather uncommon homefront poster. A near fine linen-mounted copy; never folded. There are a couple of small abrasions in the face of the central figure and a couple of very small, nearly invisible creases neatly recolored. An excellent example. Bookseller Inventory # 61047
