About this title

Danni Walton stands alone waiting for the dawn; hoping the new day will free her from the torment of her past. The years since her daughter’s rape and husband’s death - it’s easier to accept his passing as simply “his death” rather than the murder it was - have been filled with despair and regret, but increasingly with glimmers of hope. Hope that her daughter will find happiness with her new husband. Hope that the economy will not destroy what has taken a lifetime to build. Hope that the truth of her past will not cause the man she loves to reject her. But having sipped from the cup of the revenge the nectar of life can be bittersweet; and truth is darker than hope. A simple letter to the new President - The cops in Atlanta are killing all the brothers and ain’t nobody doing nothing about it - begins to cloud the future with the deeds of Danni’s past. As the investigation unravels the secrets well hidden for so many years, the problems of the present are compounded by corruption in the family business, her daughter’s husband a prisoner of terrorists in Lebanon, the man she loves accused of treasonous acts by the government, and an America that is locked in a death spiral of moral decay and economic strife. Will that which can save the country destroy the future of Danni Walton and those she holds dear?
