1st edition, very good condition, wrinkle to upper edge, 8 1/2" by 11" pictorial wraps, the cover illustration is a drawing of croaching lion ready to attack, published by The Nagel Publishing Company, St. Louis, 32 pages. Denver M. Wright a successful businessman and an ardent hunter staged the strangest and most bizarre African lion hunting safari in America, importing two large male African lions and set them loose on an uninhabited island on the Mississippi river and with Denver his son Charles and six blacks as beaters dressed in proper regalia, the hunt began! Illustrated with photographs, and a motion picture was filmed of this hunt and the film was entitled The Lure Of The Beast and shown in selected theatres of the day.
