The American translator of this book makes the point that the published works by Wood, Stephenson, Tredgold and others were too voluminous and abstruse for any but professional men but that Moreau had managed to "cullÉsufficient to exhibit all the ordinary operations of Rail Roads and had explained constructions. in a plain and intelligible manner.".
