About this Item

Second edition, revised. 112 pages plus 62 plates, many folding. 9.75 by 12 inches. The author was the engineer employed to design what is now known as the New Croton Dam, a key part of the infrastructure of New York City's water supply system. At the time, it was significantly larger than any dam ever attempted. This book became a standard work on dam design, passing through many editions into the 1920s. Bookseller Inventory # 49588
