About the Author:

Born in 1978, the author studied physics at the Technische Universitńt Dresden. He graduated with the set-up of an experimental positron-emission tomograph for educational purposes. Changing to the PANDA project, he worked then on the optimization of the silicon vertex detector. He obtained his doctoral degree at the university of Bonn in 2011.
