Bound in period, stamped leather boards, with an early but later spine having a partially chipped spine label. The front cover and first frontpaper are detached. The top of the spine is chipped away for about 20mm, and the bottom of the spine has about 8mm of chipping loss. The covers' edges are worn, with about 25mm of loss to the leather at the back cover's upper right corner together with some wormholing to the cover. Some 1800's ownership inscriptions on the front inner cover and to the top of the title page. Pagination: 2 later frontpapers, with the first original page being the Title Page, (blank), (27) pages prefaces, 3 (blank), 791 pages main text, (blank), 2 later endpapers. There is a little ink underlining, with about the first 80 pages having some light pencil underlining, and pencilling in the margins. The pages are tightly bound.
