About this Item

xiii, [3], 622 p. 20 cm. Illustrations, Maps, Plates. In this revision the original plan of the manual, which gives to the tropical practitioner a concise and readily accessible presentation of the subject, has been retained. One of the changes reflects the acceptance of the spirochaetal etiology of yellow fever as ascertained by Noguchi (and this discussion is now placed with the section dealing with protozoal diseases). Six new chapters have been added on: Epidemic jaundice, rat bite fever, tularaemia, tables of helminthic and arthropodan diseases, trench fevers, and the diagnostics of tropical joint, muscle and bone lesions. Extensive additions ahve been made to the chapter on Diagnostic problems and procedures and elsewhere the latest views of acidosis have been added. Rear Adm.
