Attractively bound by Petrus Ruban, a top French bookbinder, in half-red morocco with a delicate design of five vertical fillets with fleur-de-lys, foliate and dolphin tools in gilt. T.e.g. Marbled boards and endpapers. Wear at extremities and along hinges; small quarter-inch corner portion of spine end torn to Volume III. Internally fine but for a marginal tear to p. 144, 145, Volume I. Presentation inscription in ink to all three volumes. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 006611
