Original stiff grey wrappers and buff cloth spine bound in. Title printed in blue and black. Illustrated with woodblock headings and blue capitals. Foreword by Fredrick S. Myrtle. 16 pp. A tight, near fine example, some scuffing to the upper rear cover. Short verse piece composed by Harte in 1870 upon Dickens' death; Harte, who was a admirerer and was greatly influenced by the British autor, at the time was publishing the "Overland Monthly' out of San Francisco and ordered the next issue held until he composed this piece.
