About this Item

These are a collection of nineteen volumes of Dickens work, primarily the Victorian Edition, thirteen volumes; the Gadshill Edition, four volumes; and the Westminster Edition, two volumes. All these volumes indicate, regardless of which edition is quoted, that this is the 458th of a total of 1,000 printed, and printed as being "for subscribers only".The volumes are bound in blue cloth with a 2" x 3" paper sticker on the spine detailing what is in the volume. The volumes are bound in blue cloth, which I would describe as a light denim blue with a rough texture. The tops of all pages are done in gold gilt, and the fronts and bottoms of all volumes are in untrimmed rough cut. Most of the spines are very lightly sunned. I believe the date of publication to be around 1900, but none of the volumes indicates a year of publication. A list of the volumes follows.Volume One--Victorian Edition--Dombey and Son; Volume Two--Westminster Edition-- Dombey and Son, and Oliver Twist; Volume Three--Gadshill Edition--Banaby Rudge; Volume Four--Victorian Edition--Little Dorrit; Volume Five--Victorian Edition--Little Dorrit and Christmas Books, etc.; Volume Six--Victorian Edition--Our Mutual Friend; Volume Seven--Victorian Edition--Our Mutual Friend and Hard Times; Volume Eight--Victorian Edition--Martin Chuzzlewit; Volume Nine--Victorian Edition--Martin Chuzzlewit and Tale of Two Cities; Volume Ten--Victorian Edition--Nicholas Nickleby; Volume Eleven--Victorian Edition--Nicholas Nickleby and Sketches by Boz, it has a light brown spot about an inch in diameter on the lower third of the spine; Volume Twelve--Victorian Edition--Old Curiousity Shop, etc.; Volume Thirteen--Gadshill Edition--Bleak House; Volume Fourteen--Victorian Edition--Bleak House and Great Expectations; Volume Fifteen--IS MISSING; Volume Sixteen--Gadshill Edition--Pickwick Club and Christmas Stories; Volume Seventeen--Victorian Edition--Child's History of England and American Notes; Volume Eighteen--Westminster Edition--David Copperfield; Volume Nineteen--Victorian Edition--David Copperfield and Edwin Drood, etc., it has slight brown stain on the lower one third of the front spine fold, and on the front edge of the lower half of the front cover; Volume Twenty--Gadshill Edition--Uncommercial Traveler. All these books are in remarkably excellent condition considering their age. The pages are all clear and bright and show hardly any signs of age, with the only brownig being right on the page edges. We ship in cardboard boxes, and guarantee satisfaction. Extra postage will be required on this shipment and will be calculated depending upon location of the buyer. Bookseller Inventory # 21583
