Sawed-off shotgun again takes its toll. 48 year old Vizererillo Guadagni, a west side police character and bootlegger was riddled with shotgun slugs and fatally wounded by several men who sped by him late in the night in an automobile at Oakley and 24th St. Even though Vizererillo had five slugs lodged in his head he was able to tell his story as he was dying. One of the shooters had dropped his gun while fleeing. In this 5 ¾ X 7 ½ black and white photograph police inspect the gun. Photographs # 5-8: Four black and white photographs of cars abandoned by Dillinger. Photograph #5 Bullet riddled Dillinger Bandit Auto is Found Abandoned. Brown sedan, riddled with bullet holes an spattered with blood, was found abandoned near Goodland, Indiana, shortly after the South Bend bank holdup. The bandits escaped with $29,890 after killing a police officer. The photographic newspaper article shows the same picture. Measuring 7 ½ x 9 ½". Photograph #6. Car Abandoned. Automobile used by John Dillinger gang in mad race to Chicago from the police trap in Wisconsin woods. The machine bore signs of the gangsters' frantic flight to escape the federal dragnet. Photographic newspaper article stamped 1934 shows a partial image of the same picture. Measures 8" x 9 ¾" with lower corner torn away with grey coloring to highlight the vehicle. Photograph #7 Dillinger Auto With its rear window glass removed to allow free action of a machine gun, this is the Dillinger auto discovered abandoned at Rosco and Leavitt Streets. Policeman G.F. Stock is inspecting the machine which Dillinger and his gang seized near St. Paul following their flight from federal trap at Spider Lake, Wis. Photograph measures 81/4 x 10: with gray and black markings for sizing of news article with is also mounted to rear. Photograph #8 Car Abandoned by Dillinger. Measures 6 ½ x 8 ½" with copyright notice stamp on back from the International News Photos Inc. Photograph #9 Fired on in Dillinger Battle. Mercer, Wis. This is the automobile in which John Hoffman, John Morris and Eugene Boisoneau, were leaving Little Bohemia, near Mercer, when they were fired upon by Federal agents, in the belief that they were members of the Dillinger gang. 21 bullet holes were found in the body of the car. Boisoneau died from his wounds. Man in photo is Wilmer Hoffman, owner of the car, whose brother John is in a hospital in Ironwood. Measures 6 ½ x 8 ½" with information card mounted to back dated 4-27-34. Photograph #10 Machine Guns Guard Indiana Where Desperado Is Prisoner.
