About this Item

"A gripping prehistoric journey back in time when the larger-than-life monsters ruled the planet." Most likely this is a one-of copy of an elegant and scholarly book, yet illustrated profusely to provide endless enjoyment and information about dinosaurs and paleontology. Most appropriate for young readers, say teenagers, who are fascinated by these almost incredible creatures and will not be frightened by the graphic illustrations, which are not gruesome but portray just how awesome these creatures really were. This is a presentation copy from the author, Professor Emeritus Henry Gideon of the paleontology departmernt of Sussex University in the UK, with an elegantly composed farewell letter from Prof Gideon to Dr. Brown, chairman of the department, laid in. The final sentence of the letter states, "May this be the book I never had as a young man, and may if fuel their own discoveries." In addition, there is a folder affixed to the inside rear board with scale diagrams and "life size footprints" of some dinosaurs. Also, "lift-the-flaps, drama gatefolds, and a giant two-sided poster.a ground breaking book for every dinosaur enthusiast." (From rear board)l First published in the UK in 2008 by Roar Publishing. 10.2 " high, x 12" long. Bookseller Inventory # 151205
