About this Item

Sm. 4to. [2], 24 pp. Self-wrappers. "Withdrawn from Pitts Theology Library" rubber stamp verso title-page. RARE. Very good. Hanneken was a professor of theology at the GieĆ en University Consortium. Upon Johann Nikolaus Misler's death in 1683, Hanneken became chair of the Theology Department. As an orthodox Lutheran who opposed the rising sub-movement of pietism, Hanneken was embroiled in numerous disputes throughout his career and was eventually forced to accept a lecturing position in Wittenberg (after an argument with Johann Heinrich Majus) which he held until his death in 1706. WorldCat, 3 locations: Staats- und Stadtbibliothek Augsburg, Bavarian State Library (BSB), and Pitts Theology Library of the Candler School of Theology (withdrawn, i.e. this copy).
