This octavo work reprinting the Asiatic Trinities section from the Author’s seven volume series, Indian Antiquities. 250 copies published at 14s. Printed for the Author by H.L. Galabin, Ingram-Court, Fenchurch Street, 1800. With the Folding copper engraved frontispiece of Vishnu, Brahma, and Sev. Additionally, 5 other folding copper plates. Bound in a contemporary calf binding, re-backed to style with label, gilt. The boards a little worn at the edges, but otherwise very sound. A very good copy “Maurice has written with uncommon success on the wonderful mythology of the Hindoo religion” - Allibone. pp.vii, (2), 18-458. “One of the first to popularise a knowledge of the history and religions of the east” – DNB.
