About this title

Synopsis:

After tragedy tears Jamie Brandt's life apart, her only goal is to finish high school so she can leave her small hometown behind. In the meantime, riding her horse is her main source of solace, until a mysterious stable hand shows up at the barn. There's something not quite right about the handsome new employee, and the more Jamie sees of him, the more determined she becomes to figure out what he's hiding.

Dothan Reed came to historic Huntsville, Maryland, for one reason--revenge. But his plan can't move forward until he finds the missing piece he needs to enhance his powers. As the only surviving Nephilim, Dothan is not only weaker than full-blooded angels; his forbidden lineage makes him an outcast in both worlds. When he discovers Jamie is the key to locating an ancient weapon, he's forced to interact with a vulnerable human girl--a task that becomes more appealing with each encounter.

Jamie soon learns Dothan isn't the only one with a dark secret. Each new revelation further threatens her safety, and Dothan's betrayal shatters her heart. Forgiving him seems impossible, but the thought of turning her back on him is equally painful.

As their connection deepens, Dothan will have to make his own difficult choice: continue on his path of vengeance, or protect the girl he loves. And when Dothan's actions thrust Jamie into an unforeseen danger, he must seek the help of his enemy...or risk losing her forever.

Review:

"As I started reading about Jamie and Dothan, I kept trying to figure out exactly what Dothan was and how Jamie fit into the story.  When it was revealed how the two of them were tied together, I had that ah-ha moment and could not believe it--but it all fell into place and made sense.  Although Jamie and Dothan are young, the love they shared was amazing.  Divine Fall is at the top of my must-share list...Kathryn Knight is an author I am always confident in recommending." - A Novel Review (5 stars)

"Divine Fall reminded me of Twilight but in a more realistic manner.  Author Kathryn Knight has written a book that teenage girls everywhere will love.  This story has a positive message and Jamie is a strong young woman...reads quickly with action and romance." - Read for Your Future (4.5 stars)

"Everything about Divine Fall pulls you in, and trust me, you won't regret reading this.  The action is nonstop and nail-bitingly good.  I was on the edge of my seat...the twists and turns kept me constantly surprised." - Where Books Lead Us (4.5 stars)

"This delicious YA novel was filled with love, rich in history, suspense, and enough twists to keep the reader turning the pages.  If you're a fan of The Mortal Instruments, Divine Fall certainly satisfies the craving for angels, Nephilim, and a wonderful love story!" - BTS eMagazine, Reviewer Nominee for BTS Red Carpet Book Award (4.5 stars)
2015 Reader's Choice Award Winner in Young Adult Romance - The Romance Reviews

Store Description

Member: Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America, International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, Southern New England Antiquarian Booksellers. "One of the finest in N.E. (&) the premier used book shop on Cape Cod." - Used Book Lover's Guide. We are a general used and rare book shop with about 70,000 volumes. Located half way between Falmouth and Hyannis (4632 Falmouth Rd, Rte 28), we are named in honor of the famous colonial era printer and philanthropist, founder (1812) of the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester. We started in Worcester in 1969, and moved to the Cape in 1990. Impressed with architectural craftmanship, in Worcester we were stewards and renewers of a decorative Queen Anne Victorian. Here on the Cape we take care of the newest (1860) Crocker family home in the village of Cotuit, part of the town of Barnstable: a tall peaked Italianate Victorian now painted pink and four other colors. The owner's training has included work in four libraries and apprenticeship with bookseller Irving Ephraim (1908-1989) of Worcester who began his own career during the depression. Able assistants have always been and known the meaning of 'book people.' Remembering with fondness Mr. E. and the enormous influence of our home town librarians, we try to continue their tradition of service.
