A Good to Very Good complete set, in cloth backed card covers, of 5 Volumes of this series of climbing guide books to the Lake District ranging from 1922-1926. Volume 1 by Bower, Volume 2 by H M Kelly, Volume 3 by C F Holland, Volume 4 by H S Gross, Volume 5 by A R Thompson. The first ever published series of guides to these areas of the Lake District. Volumes 1 & 2 are in Very Good + condition, Volume 3 is in Very Good Condition but the covers are very slightly darkened, Volume 4 is worn and marked and has been much used - to the verso of the title page is affixed a contemporary photograph of Great Gable, The title page is marked and carries an earlier relevant poem affixed to the edge, this is a lovely copy and was formerly owned and used much by C Douglas Milner with his pencil signature and card to the title, further relevant photgraphs are also attached of climbs by Milner, clearly a much used and important guide book for him. Volume 5 is a little lightly marked but is generally Very Good. Altogether a really nice set and a key Lake Distrrict set of books. Bookseller Inventory #
