Description:

Don Bradman's Book. The Story of my Cricketing Life to August 1930 (with Hints on Batting , Bowling and Fielding). Written by Don Bradman with additional chapter by Bruce Harris bringing the story of Don Bradman up to date. Published by Hutchinson and Co. in 1938. A paperback book with paper cover. Size: 4 3/4 x 7 1/4 inches. Page number: 216. An Australian, Don Bradman is widely acknowledged to have been the greatest batsman of all time. His career test batting average was 99.94 which is still considered to be statistically the greatest achievement in any major sport. This book describes his isolated childhood in the Australian bush where he taught himself the game of cricket, his meteoric rise to fame as Australia's team captain and his record breaking tour of England. There are 15 photographs within the text showing images of The Oval, Lords, Nottingham and Headingley cricket grounds. Also photographs of Bradman showing 'How it should be done'. Condition: The book is printed on fragile paper. It has held up well however being only a little creased at a few edges. The cover that was once bright yellow, has faded to cream and is a little worn in places with one half inch tear at the top right hand corner. The binding is tight, the contents clean.
