Book Description Grosset & Dunlap, New York, 1925. Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. Walter S. Rogers (illustrator). The cover has red cloth with black letters. 214 pages; 25 chapters; b/w frontispiece; green illustrations on the endpapers. This series list in the front has 5 titles. The cloth has light shelf wear soiling and a little sheen loss in some places. The back board has a 1 in. x 3/4 in. piece of paper stuck on it. The top edge of the spine strip is a little frayed. The boards' edges have two 1/8 in. and one 1/4 in. threadbare spots. The top end of the text block is olive green and has small, rubbed spots. The other two ends have darkened; four light stains, up to a linear 1/2 in., are on the bottom end. The pages are tanned. About a tenth of the pages have one or more stains; two of those pages have the most stains. The binder's glue has darkened part of each pastedown. The margins of the frontispiece have light foxing. DJ: The front flap lists 15 titles in this series. The back panel lists Hardy Boys titles; the back flap lists X Bar X Boys titles. The spine panel has shelf wear soiling, a vertical creae line, and chips on each end. The front flap's fold is split and is tipped back together with glue. The back panel has shelf wear soiling. The ends of the folds are chipped, up to a linear 3/4 in. Seven closed tears are 1/8 in. to 5/8 in.
