About this Item

"Dracula," by Bram Stoker, is one of the most famous vampire/horror stories ever written. Originally published by Archibald Constable and Company, Westminster, England, 1897. The abridged text was published by Archibald Constable in 1901. This copy, pristine and in a sturdy As New slipcase, is one of 500 published by Transylvania Press, Inc. in 1994. From Wikipedia: Dracula is an 1897 Gothic horror novel by Irish author Bram Stoker, famous for introducing the character of the vampire Count Dracula. The novel tells the story of Dracula's attempt to move from Transylvania to England to find new blood and spread the undead curse, and of the battle between Dracula and a small group of men and women led by Professor Abraham Van Helsing. Dracula has been assigned to many literary genres including vampire literature, horror fiction, the gothic novel, and invasion literature. Stoker did not invent the vampire but he defined its modern form. This copy is the 1994 imprint of the scarce 1901 abridgement by Stoker of his text. The volume is bound in black cloth with stamped reflective red lettering/ornamentation on the front cover and spine. The book is in As New condition, solidly bound with red endpapers and clean, bright pages. A reproduction of the original cover of the 1901 edition appears prior to the title page.
