About the Author: Phil Hinsley was born in Barry, South Wales. He studied art in Cardiff and moved to London to pursue a career in photography. Later he turned to portrait painting and exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the National Portrait Gallery. He worked in a hospital for people with learning difficulties for 25 years (no longer standing), and now works in the site team of Watford Grammar School for Girls. He is married to Anne and they have 3 gerbils.
