About this title

Synopsis:

This is a practical drawing course which encourages readers to draw with confidence by developing their own ideas and individual styles. The book aims to demystify the learning process, making it an enjoyable experience. The book is designed for both beginners and those who wish to broaden their horizons, or to refresh their work with new approaches. The opening chapters teach the basic technique for using tone, line and texture. These early chapters feature accessible and easy subject matter whereas later chapters gradually progress to more difficult topics such as composition, light and form. Projects are at the end of each chapter and hints and tips are given throughout, so that learning is progressive and fun. In addition to the author's own drawings, the book features artists, to illustrate different methods, styles and approaches. The author is an experienced teacher of art and has written and illustrated many children's books. She is a regular contributor to the "Artist's and Illustrator's Magazine".

Terms of Sale:

We go to a lot of trouble to fully describe each item on our listings - however if
you think something's not as described return within 14 days in the same condition
it was received for full refund.

Shipping Terms:

Postage and packing is charged at our rate listed with ABE. However it is worth pointing out that UK postage just goes on going up and that sending a huge Fine Art book to Timbuctoo is simply not going to travel there for six or seven quid. On more recent listings we include a warning to this effect in the description of heavier books. We feel that clarifying this is in everyone's best interests and mention it because mostly we're not paperback merchants and include a sizeable number of hefty books in our stock. Even surface mail is creeping up and in due course it may be that we're entering a time when sending heavy books overseas will no longer be feasible unless you're happy to take out a mortgage for the fee. We've tried the overseas alternatives to Royal Mail and by and large for us they've been found wanting.
