About this title

Synopsis:

The novel, One Dream, is a unique inside view into the world of a teen whose alcoholic mother commits suicide, leaving him to live in an orphanage where he befriends people that entice him in to taking drugs. The surprising thing about One Dream is the honest viewpoint of a young adult, Bet Pecora , writing about her peers. The story speaks in a language that is riveting and emotional, highlighting topics young adults want to hear about, while dealing with serious issues. It is accompanied by 12 shocking real stories about substance abuse written and collected by teens. The gripping reality of the stories brings home the disturbing truth of how much our youth have to endure. It took a great deal of courage, understanding and a profound belief that they are making a difference for them to write these stories.

About the Author:

Bet Shoshannah Pecora currently resides in Hume, Virginia, a small town where she has lived her entire life. She wrote her book, One Dream, at the age of fifteen, and hopes to write and publish more works like it.

Besides writing, Bet Shoshannah spends her time playing her piano, violin, guitar, drums, and even sings in a choir. Living in a part of the country where horses are especially popular, she has taken up riding, and looks forward to owning some horses one day.

Bet Shoshannah wrote this book to inform teenagers her age about the harsh world. While doing this, she hopes to open some eyes that are currently shut, and maybe influence even one person from doing anything that would harm their life, or lives of others.
