About this Item

Hardcover. Royal octavo. iv + 144pp. Golden textured papered boards gilt-lettered on spine & front board. B/w illustrations (photos). A history of John H. Koyle and his "Dream Mine" east of Salem in Utah County. Koyle (b. 1864) was active in the Mormon Church and from his twenties began having visionary dreams, many of which were supposed to have led him to make quite accurate predictions about future events. In one dream an other-worldy figure was supposed to have shown him a particular mountain, east of his home, and indicated that it was full of precious metals. So began the long saga of the "Koyle Dream Mine" (arguably - as far as is apparent - one of Koyle's less successful prophecies. The author, Norman C. Pierce (1906-1976), was an American Mormon who lived in Salt Lake city. This is the second (revised) edition of the work - it was first published in an edition of 200 copies in mimeographed form in 1958. Bumps to corners of boards & top of spine, boards & page-edges slightly discolored, otherwise a solid, internally-clean VG copy (no dust jacket). Bookseller Inventory # 43788
