About this title
This book is full of homes that were built in L.A. L.A. was settled by people who were about acquired land and built a small house. A portion of these people did build mansions. In early L.A. times there were more private homes per capita than any other large city. In the 1920's each block would be made up of cheaply built homes and some mansions in concrete & stucco. Now that mush time has past you still find many homes, but not as many cheaply built homes. It was in L.A. that real estate folks began really using the term "Boulevard" for names of streets. Boulevard is French meaning, suave, grandeur of Paris..
