Dark brown end pages; bottom 2 inch portion of front end page torn out. Back blank end page torn out. Smudges on some pages. Page edgs darkened; Dark brown hard covers with gild lettering on spine. Several smudges, soiling and discoloration spots on covers. Corners, spine ends and edges worn, frayed, and bumped. Top 1/2 inch of outer spine is torn off, revealing underying cloth. Inner spine creases on front and back are weakened and split but pages intact. Book presents reliable formulas for preparing well-known medicines not given in the U S Dispensatory or Pharmacopoeia. Formulas are found to be reliable, and can be depended upon. They have been prepared many times and never failed to produce the desired result if carefully compounded.
