About this Item

Drych yr Amseroedd, 1st ed, 1820. In full modern calf, decorative gilt box & edge tooling. Faded spine, gilt tooling, titles in gilt to maroon calf label. Internally, new endpapers, contemp. notes tipped to fpd, [3], (iv-vi), [1], 8-206 pp, some light browning throughout, text block edges yellowed. Rare early Welsh provincial printing. (Libri Walliae 3057). JONES, Calvinistic Methodist exhorter and author, wrote Drych yr Amseroedd, a description of the Methodist revival in Wales and its effects. This, his last book is his masterpiece; the writing is terse, the descriptions are lively, and it is permeated with the fervour of the revival. See NLW WBO. Bookseller Inventory # 005279
