Add to basketPortrait of John George Lambton, Earl of Durham (1792-1840), also known as "Radical Jack" and commonly referred to in Canadian history texts as Lord Durham, was a British statesman, colonial administrator, Governor General and high commissioner of British North America. Steel engraving on wove paper, sheet size 234 x 151 mm., engraved by Carl Mayer, and published by the same in Nurnberg, in: Meyer, Joseph. Conversations-Lexikon für die gebildeten Stände, published between 1840-1855. Carl Mayer (Vienna 1810-1876) was an Austrian painter, engraver and publisher. In good condition, foxing in the left and lower margins. Image itself quite clean, except some foxing in the top right edge.
