About this title

Synopsis:

Novelist Graham Broadbent coasts through life like many of the characters in his books, low-key & unassertive, quietly accepting the easy pace his success has allowed him. But one night, minutes before leaving to speak at his school reunion, attractive 20-year-old Christa appears at his door & tells Graham he is her father.

About the Author:

ROBERT BARNARD was born in Essex. He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford, and after completing his degree he taught English at universities in Australia and Norway, where he completed his doctorate on Dickens. He returned to England to become a full-time writer and currently lives with his wife in Leeds, Yorkshire. The couple are currently collaborating on a Bronte encyclopaedia. In his spare time he enjoys opera, crosswords and walking the dog. In 2003 Robert Barnard was the recipient of the prestigious CWA Cartier Diamond Dagger, an award in recognition of a lifetime's achievement in crime writing.
