Book Description D. Appleton and Co., New York. Hardcover Library. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. Four Volume Set; A good working set, withdrawn from a library and bound in sturdy library buckram. The bindings are only minimally worn, but are not much to look at, being homely and plain. The titles are stamped on two of the spines and written in white pen on the other two. However, they have done their job of protecting the contents. The pages are lightly age-toned but not brittle, and all the illustrations and maps are in place. The library has embossed some of the illustrations and all of the maps with a small stamping of its name, but this is very inconspicuous and confined to edges. The front endpaper and first page (blank) of the first volume are torn, but that is the only damage to a page that I note. Any mode of shipping other than standard (media mail) will have to be specially arranged, due to the massive size of this marvelous set.; Ex-library; Oversize. Seller Inventory # 32405
