Die hier erstmals veroffentlichte Vorlesung Einleitung in die Philosophie hielt Martin Heidegger vierstundig im Wintersemester 1928/29 an der Universitat Freiburg. Der beabsichtigte Gang der Einleitung umfasste drei Stadien bzw. Wege: Philosophie und Wissenschaft, Philosophie und Weltanschauung, Philosophie und Geschichte. Der zweite Abschnitt gewann an Umfang durch eine eingehende Erorterung des Weltbegriffs von Kant, wahrend der dritte Abschnitt - Philosophie und Geschichte - nicht zur Ausfuhrung kam. Es gibt, glaube ich, keine bessere Einfuhrung in Heideggers Philosophie. [.] Alle Punkte, die seit den funfziger Jahren zu endlosen Missverstandnissen gefuhrt haben, sind hier in souveraner Ruhe erklart. Es ist nicht auszudenken, was geschehen ware, ware dieser Band vor funfzig Jahren erschienen. Ob Heidegger Existentialist war oder nicht, ob seine Philosophie pessimistisch war oder nicht, alle diese torichten Debatten hatten diese Selbsterklarungen uns erspart.
