Titlepage and chapter divisions printed in blue and black, illustrated with black and white photographs. Tall and thick 8vo, in the publisher's fine limited edition binding of rich navy morocco elaborately decorated on both covers and spine in gilt, the boards in a panel design with elegant gilt tooling, the spine decorated in compartments between raised bands and with gilt lettering, silk moire endpapers, ribbon marker, t.e.g. xxviii + 897 pp. A pristine copy, as mint. The laid in pamphlet on the edition, which is often not included, with brief manuscript notation on cover but otherwise mint as well. PRIZE WINNING BIOGRAPHY OF THE ROOSEVELTS IN BEAUTIFUL LIMITED FORMAT AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. A close friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, Lash won both the Pulitzer Prize for Biography and the National Book Award in Biography for Eleanor and Franklin.
