About this Item

193 pages, illustrated. "There is no man better qualified than the author of this book to lead the way into the field of aeronatical engineering. Colonel Clark graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1907. After several years of varied experience in both the Navy and the Army, he qualified as an airplane pilot in 1913 and then took a post-graduate course in aeronautical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Many of the most successful airplanes which have been built in the United States use airfoils designed by Colonel Clark, among the Coloenel Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis. This book is an attempt to answer the call from thousands of young men- students in our schools, draughtsmen, airplane pilots, factory and maintenance specialists, and mechnanics- all of whom seek to acquire a grasp of the principles of aviation." VERY GOOD HARDCOVER, lettering is bright on the spine. Size: 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 022604
